Back from the Road Trip

Just got back from the road trip to Vegas, Arizona and Utah a couple of days ago. The trip started with Vegas. The drive to Utah from Los Angeles is a bit too long, so we got to stop somewhere and Vegas is the best stop-over. Strolled around the strip in the evening, took some photos which later magically disappeared from my memory card. Bummer.

I had the most fun in MGM watching the lions and in Bellagio photographing the butterflies. Call me weird, but I love animals; what can I say? Gambling is boring to me. :)

Satisfied with Vegas, we went to Zion National Park, Utah. Great views, good hiking. It was cool. The best part was Weeping Rock; we were there at the right time. Wanted to try the Angels Landing, but we didn't have the extra time. Perhaps next time.

Exhausted with the hiking in Zion, we move on to Page town where Antelope Canyon and Colorado River are. We then decided we have to put Bryce Canyon in the agenda even tho we've already 2.5 hours past it. The next day, we forced our self to go to Bryce. When we get there, it was totally worth it. Awesome view. And if that is not enough, it snowed pretty heavily a couple of hours after we arrived. How awesome was that? It was my first snow! I had sooooooo much fun. :)

Going to Bryce was totally the best decision we made on the trip even though we had to add an extra 5 hours on the road. If we had gone to Antelope Canyon instead of Bryce that day, we would had been kicked out due to the rain. And we would be wasting our day since there's not really much to see in the town. note: Antelope Canyon is the slot canyon where in 1997 swept by one of the worst flash flood in the decade and took the life of 11 people.

So yea, postponing the Antelope Canyon to the next day was the best idea. Antelope Canyon was breathtaking to me. I just love the abstract form of the red rocks. It is incredible. After Antelope Canyon we still had sometime to spend before we head back for another stop-over in Vegas so we went to Horseshoe Bend of Colorado River. It was totally magnificent. It was pretty scary at first to stood on the edge since there wasn't any railing whatsoever on the edge of the cliff. But once you got used to it, it wasn't as bad.

I am now back to my old busy routine. Went through some of the photos from Bryce Canyon, Utah. I will go through the rest of the photos and post some here soon.

Spring Break

This Spring semester has been super intense for me. Taking more classes that usual and getting more gigs than before too; which is very good tho a bit overwhelming sometimes. So spring break is coming up. I just can't wait to get away from the stress of school and work.

Me and a couple of good friends have been talking about going on a trip to Grand Canyon and Utah for this spring break. I was excited, but I wasn't super excited since I wasn't completely sure what I'm going to photograph. After researching on the possible sites to visit, I came across a few photos from Arizona that I bookmarked long time ago. I remember right away that this is what I've been wanting to photograph since I saw the pictures. btw, those pictures are of from Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. I know Antelope Canyon is a little bit overdone, but I just can't resist the beauty of it. It is just breathtaking for me. So, you can say it's overdone; I would not care. I'm now really looking forward for this trip more than ever; in another word(s): super excited! :)

Unfortunately we will only have less than a week, so after (sort of) planning the trip, we decided to eliminate Grand Canyon and just go to Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Monument Valley and stopping by Las Vegas on the way back. I hate to cross Grand Canyon out, but I think we got a lot on our plate already, so that's okay. I hope I'll get back with a few awesome shots. :)
